Issued first on Bathetic via cassette, My Beloved Ghost was the debut of TJ Cowgill's King Dude project -- he also plays in Book Of Black Earth and Cross, while running the clothing brand, Actual Pain (beloved by many, including Kanye West). My Beloved Ghost was a release near and dear to our hearts, and really opened the world up to King Dude. Subsequent releases followed, like the Black Triangle 7'' on Clan Destine Records (featured here on this 12'' vinyl reissue) and a long-playing CD-R on Disaro, Tonight's Special Death.
King Dude is making, hands down, some of the best modern neo-folk. Fans of Death In June, Sol Invictus, & Blood Axis - take notice if you haven't already, you're going to love this. However dark the music of King Dude, it's never cheesy, and to an extent, I'd say the tongue is firmly in cheek -- keep in mind it is called KING DUDE. His songs are incredibly well-written and catchy as hell. We're proud to work with him and excited to see what he does in the future -- expect an upcoming full-length in the future on DAIS Records.
